Do your research. Visit our website but don’t just take us at our word. Read the blogs and newsletters posted by missionaries currently serving with MAF, and do a Google search to see what others say about us.
Talk to one of our recruiters. We’d be happy to share about our own experiences in serving with MAF, and explain more about the requirements needed, and what you can expect.
Talk to your parents, co-workers, friends, and mentors. They know you best. Ask them to be honest – brutally honest. They’ll tell you whether they think you’re called to serve.
Pray. Ask God to reveal His will for you, and ask for His guidance. The decision to serve with MAF – let alone the years and expense of training involved – are not to be taken lightly.
Get involved with your church and your community. Participate in a short-term missions trip. Take a leadership role in your youth group. Become a missionary here at home. If you don’t have a heart for people here, it won’t develop there.
A minimum 12 credit hours of Bible College related courses are required. Either select a Post-Secondary school with a Christ-centered approach to education, or take some correspondence or distance education courses.
Stay in touch with us. Feel free to ask us questions and keep us updated with your progress. We want to help you succeed in fulfilling your role in serving the needs of those in isolated communities.
