Serve as a Pilot with MAF

Without qualified pilots to fly them, our planes would sit idle and unused.

MAF pilots provide safe and efficient transportation to thousands of relief workers, missionaries, and relief and development organizations around the world.

In addition to the general requirements for all MAF overseas staff, consideration will be given to those applicants with …

  • A Canadian Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot’s license or foreign equivalent
  • An instrument rating
  • A recommended 1,000 flight hours including 50 hours of high performance (200+ hp) time
  • At least 250 hours of PIC time
  • Additionally, in a few of the countries we serve, MAF may require that a pilot also possess aircraft maintenance qualifications (a Canadian AME or US A&P, or foreign equivalent)

Due to the significant investment of time and money to technically prepare our pilots, the minimum commitment for pilots is normally 4 years (with travel to Canada every 2 years). Shorter terms are sometimes possible for pilots who have acquired a considerable amount of comparable flight experience.
