Bert & Kathy THOMAS

Bert and Kathy

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Jesus Christ returns.
– Philippians 1:6 (NLT)

Bert grew up in Edmonton and attended Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, obtaining an honors diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology, and then completing his apprenticeship in Whitehorse. Bert has run his own aircraft maintenance business for over 35 years, 24 years as a Cessna Service Center.  Bert has two adult children: Bill & Rebecca. After the loss of his first wife, he and Kathy were married in 2008.

Kathy has been involved in a variety of ‘occupations’: banking, insurance, homemaking, and motherhood. She ran a farm business with her first husband where her tasks included: bookkeeping, management decisions, driving a combine and a tractor! She has put her organizational/bookkeeping skills to good use in the day-to-day operations of Bert’s aviation business. Kathy has two adult children: Rachel & Ryan whom she raised after the tragic passing of her first husband in 1996. Together, Bert & Kathy have 2 granddaughters.

Bert and Kathy are currently serving at Prairie Aviation Training Centre (PATC) in Three Hills, AB where they are excited to be involved in the maintenance program, encouraging and challenging the students in their walk with the Lord, and training up the next generation of aviation professionals. It is their hope that the students will take the love of Christ into their workplaces, wherever that may be.

MAF needs couples like Bert and Kathy who have the necessary skills to provide support for students training to become future missionaries. Consider contributing to the important work they are helping to make possible with MAF.
