Alex was born in Germany, but he grew up in Delta, BC and started working in aviation in 2005 as an aircraft mechanic. His interest in missions started after reading a flyer about MAF. A year later, he headed overseas as a mechanic on an 18-month assignment to Central Asia with a MAF affiliate. At the end of his short-term assignment, he was approached about serving in Asia for a few months as an aviation mechanic.
April grew up in southern Ontario and became interested in mission aviation when a missions pilot shared about the ministry at a local church. She was put in touch with MAF and after completing her aviation training at Prairie Bible College, she joined the flight instructing staff at the college. In 2012, April was accepted with MAF Canada as a pilot & flight instructor and was assigned to a partner organization in Asia. She served there for 3 years as the chief flight instructor.
Alex and April met in Asia and were married in Canada in 2016. Alex has since become an IT specialist with MAF Canada and is responsible for supporting the MAF Canada office, Angola and Prairie Aviation Training Centre (PATC) in their technical needs. April is enjoying flight instructing at PATC where she not only teaches students how to fly, but more importantly challenges and encourages students in their walk with the Lord.
Please prayerfully consider partnering with Alex and April as they serve with MAF at PATC.
