Brett and Jaclyn grew up in Calgary, Alberta. They met at a Christian camp, and spent many summers together being encouraged in their walk with Jesus and their desire to serve Him. They were married in 2006 and knew that God was leading them into missions. Brett earned his aircraft maintenance certifications and commercial pilot license, while Jaclyn pursued a career in nursing. God blessed them with three children: Joel (2008), Katie (2011) and Levi (2013).
After joining MAF in 2014, the Reierson family completed a year of French language training before moving to their country of service: the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Living in the capital city of Kinshasa, they daily encounter people living in poverty and hopelessness. They are learning to lean into Christ and walk in His strength as they serve in various roles:
Brett flies a Cessna Caravan, bringing church workers, medical supplies and personnel, and humanitarian aid to isolated villages. He also uses his maintenance expertise in the hangar, keeping the airplanes operating smoothly. Jaclyn is always ready to use her nursing skills, and ministers through building relationships in her community. The kids attend a French language school, and enjoy playing soccer, swimming and eating the local staple: fufu!
Please pray for the Reiersons as they continue to shine His light in the DRC.
