Melvin & Kari PETERS

Melvin and Kari

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
– Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Melvin & Kari Peters grew up in Northern Alberta and both received the call to the mission field as teenagers. They served with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Africa for 19 years. They were in Lesotho from 2000 to 2015 where they worked closely with the government to provide a Flying Doctor Service to those living in isolation in this mountainous country.

In 2015 they moved to Kenya to open up a new base in northern Kenya, and in 2019 they returned to Canada to allow Nthabiseng to finish high school and prepare for post-secondary education. During this time Melvin took on a Recruiting and Development role with the MAF home office.

Looking ahead to this next season of ministry, Melvin is currently preparing for an overseas assignment in Port-au-Prince, Haiti where he will serve as a pilot on a rotational basis through the summer of 2021 while Kari remains in Manitoba as Nthabiseng completes her final year of high school. During this next year they will also be discerning whether God is calling them to transition to Haiti full-time.

Please continue to pray for Melvin and Kari as they take on this new challenge in their ongoing service with MAFC. Please also pray for Matthew, Meagan (& Zaka), Hannah, Japheth & Nthabiseng who reside in Canada and the US.

MAF needs couples like Melvin and Kari who are prepared and willing to serve the needs of the poor in Haiti. Consider contributing to the important work they are helping to make possible with MAF.
