As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
– 1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)

Matthew was born in High Level, Alberta, although that has never been his home. He grew up as a missionary kid in the Kingdom of Lesotho where his parents were serving with MAF. Through his parents he came to know Jesus and accepted Him as Saviour at a young age and was baptized at Maseru United Church.

After completing high school in Lesotho he moved back to Canada to attend Steinbach Bible College. It was there that he grew in relationship with Christ as well as realized his thirst for adventure and desire to serve those most in need. It was at SBC that he felt the call to follow in his parents’ footsteps and go into missions.

After 2 years at SBC he entered the workforce and also began pursuing certification in IT, a longstanding passion of his. It was during this time that he learned, through his parents, that MAF had a need for IT personnel. This resonated with Matthew as an opportunity to serve in missions using his skills in IT and he felt called to apply. After much consideration and prayer it was a position for an IT technician in South Sudan to which Matthew felt most called and he eagerly looks forward to serving there with MAF.

Please prayerfully consider partnering with Matthew as he prepares to serve with MAF in South Sudan.

MAF needs people like Matthew who are prepared and willing to serve the needs of the poor in South Sudan. Consider contributing to the important work he is helping to make possible with MAF.
