Barb and Tim Huebner have both felt the leading hand of God in their lives since they were young children raised in Christian families.
That same hand lead them to a Bible College in Kansas where they met and both discovered a personal relationship with Jesus that lead them to seek to serve Him together with their lives. They were involved working with children’s ministries, leading youth groups and teaching Sunday School and adult Bible classes.
In 2001, an article in the MAF Canada Life Link publication outlined the need for aircraft maintenance engineers. They were led to apply with MAF and were accepted as Short Term Missionaries. Since then they have served with MAF in Angola on four separate short term missions.
While working with MAF in Angola they saw firsthand the work MAF did in bringing missionaries and church leaders to plant and encourage local churches, doctors to remote areas, de-mining crews to clear the land of destructive land mines left from the war, and relief agencies bringing food and helping to develop clean water sources. They were deeply touched by the difference MAF and other missions make to some of the most unfortunate on earth.
In April of 2011, Tim was invited to take on the position of Director of Maintenance (DOM) for MAF Canada. In November Tim officially agreed to take on this position, with the responsibility of overseeing the maintenance of eight aircraft based in Alberta, Manitoba and Angola and moved to Airdrie, AB where they presently live.
Please pray for Tim and Barb as Tim oversees the maintenance of the MAF Canada aircraft in two countries half a world apart, that they may be used to bring God glory and to bring His hope and provision to some of the world’s most isolated and impoverished people.
