Andrew, Katrina, and Jacqueline
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
– Psalm 119:105 (NASB)
Support the work that Dallas and Karen Derksen are involved in with MAF.
Dallas and Karen are from the province of Alberta, Canada, and have been serving with MAF since 2010. They have three children, Andrew (2002), Katrina (2003) and Jacqueline (2004). They felt God’s calling on their lives to serve Him through mission aviation in 1999 and worked diligently over several years to earn his pilot’s license, as well as to build the necessary experience that was needed to join MAF.
They spent their first 3.5 years overseas serving in the MAF Uganda program, where Dallas flew the Cessna 206 and Caravan aircraft. During that time Dallas flew throughout Uganda as well as into the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, flying shuttle flights, charter flights and medical evacuation flights.
Dallas was involved in flying missionaries out of South Sudan when civil war broke out in December, 2013 and also spent time serving with the disaster response team in Nepal, where he served for one month following the earthquake in 2015.
Dallas and Karen are now serving with MAF in the country of Mongolia, where they have served for one year. In 2017 Dallas will be returning to Mongolia to serve as Country Director/Pilot.
Karen serves her family as a stay at home mom. She is also their school teacher as they have transitioned to homeschooling since their move to Mongolia in 2015.
They are excited about what God has in store for them as they follow His leading into this new role in Mongolia.
