Brandon grew up in Ontario, Canada, and has served with MAF in Papua New Guinea since 1998.
As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Brandon works in the hangar at MAF PNG’s headquarters in Mt. Hagen, in the mountainous Western Highlands performing inspections and maintenance on MAF’s diverse fleet. Brandon is involved in everything from changing oil and tires, to propellers and engines. While doing so he is also helping to train Papua New Guinean apprentices and less experienced engineers. Along with his duties in the hangar he is involved in logistics, overhauling aircraft components, and calibrating aircraft tools and equipment.
Raised in Alabama, USA, Sharlene moved to PNG, where she served with Wycliffe Bible Translators as the Principal of Ukarumpa International School (Primary Campus) from 2007 to 2010. Brandon and Sharlene met in PNG, and were married in October, 2010.
Upon returning to PNG in 2011 Sharlene became involved in flight operations. She oversaw the flight requests for all the missionaries, pastors, and Bible school students, in addition to organizing many medical evacuations and coordinating flights. Now she uses her teaching skills to provide MAF national staff with additional training in newly implemented computer software. Outside of flight operations Sharlene is also involved in providing Child Safety training for staff as well as being involved in inquiries as required.
Brandon and Sharlene thank you for your ongoing support and prayers as they continue to serve the Lord with MAF in PNG.
