Our aircraft land in all conditions and environments, they can only do so because of the phenomenal engineering team that keep them airworthy.

We now need a Training Supervisor to develop and train local aviation maintenance staff in order to improve technical skill and knowledge across the maintenance team; facilitating those eligible to become licensed engineers, and to mentor senior staff members in their roles. In addition to assist with the overall maintenance operation.

Responsibilities:

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Chad

Chief Engineer URGENT

MAF has been serving in Chad for over 50 years through times of famine, drought and civil unrest. Working with many partner organizations, MAF provides an effective air transport service for missionaries, relief organizations and the local Church. The humanitarian and spiritual needs of this country are huge, and MAF seeks to meet these needs by operating two aircraft, a Cessna Grand Caravan and a Cessna 182.

To continue our vital work, we now require a Chief Engineer to join our team. You will effectively manage the activities of our local Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), ensuring that our aircraft are maintained to MAF, national and international aviation standards. In this role, you will also support the training and development of local maintenance staff by mentoring/coaching and managing training plans.

Pilot Guinea

Experience Mission Pilot ( Multi Role)

We are now extending our work into Guinea. The country became independent from France over 60 years ago and is one the least developed countries in the world. The Ebola epidemic had a devastating impact on the country along with poor infrastructure, a growing population and a fragile democracy.

We hope to provide much needed safe and reliable air transport for organizations working in remote locations providing water and sanitation, primary health care and HIV prevention, agricultural development and food security, and the development of sustainable livelihoods.

We are now looking for a Mission Pilot who will provide a professional aviation service to our customers and be flexible in supporting the programme by fulfilling multiple responsibilities including operational, quality and safety roles on a routine basis.

Responsibilities

  • You will conduct flights in accordance with MAF procedures, always providing a customer focused flight service and actively participating in MAF’s quality and safety management systems.
  • It will be your responsibility to to maintain flying qualifications in accordance with MAF standard operating procedures and national regulations. You will have a pro-active approach to the role – ensuring national licensing and medical requirements are met. In addition as a member of a developing programme, you will share other duties to maintain operational efficiency, effectiveness, quality and safety of operations in the programme. This may include; Ground and Flight Operations as well as Quality and Safety responsibilities.
  • Finally you will be expected to maintain and improve personal professional/technical standards by participating in necessary training and completing relevant modules.

HR Manager

Papua New Guinea (PNG) is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. It is also one of the most rural, as only 18% of its people live in urban centers. Most of the population live in very remote areas where walking is the only option. Getting to the nearest hospital or town often involves days of treacherous trekking through hills, rivers and forests.

We have a great opportunity for a HR Manager to join our program  in PNG. This exciting role is crucial in supporting the Country Director in achieving the organization’s strategic and operational objectives. You will also work closely with the Asia Pacific HR Manager, and the International Recruitment Manager to provide HR Advice and support to Management and Staff of MAF PNG.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you will need a desire to work with people and see staff developed and nurtured both professionally and spiritually. Using your HR experience, you will manage the recruitment and induction of international and locally employed staff. This will involve working with the PNG Orientation Committee, MAFI Recruitment team and the wider MAFI HR Team.  Your ability to build good relationships will be important, as you manage the appropriate support and well-being of program staff, employees, visitors and CRMF International Staff, with the help of MAFI pastoral team, and member care.

As the HR Manager for the PNG Program, you will be responsible with your HR team, to oversee, develop, maintain, communicate, and enforce effective HR policies, procedures and systems. Overseeing the application and renewal processes for passports, work permits, visas and other matters involving the Departments of Labor and Immigration is an integral part of the position. Monitoring staff movements, leave, furlough and facilitating effective performance management, including reward and discipline are also essential functions of the role.

As part of the PNG leadership team, you will actively contribute to the team meetings, discussions and decisions. You will also oversee management of educational staff, hostel parents, member care volunteers, the Orientation Committee and HR Department staff.

The role includes visiting remote bases in PNG and occasional international travel.

Pilot Tanzania

Pilot/Manager

Using our two Cessna C206’s we carry out high impact flying in the form of medical and evangelistic safari flights. We fly staff from local hospitals or bible schools in order for them to deliver much needed clinics or outreach to the most isolated communities in Tanzania. The number of flying hours we carry out is relatively low but you will enjoy the rewarding opportunity for personal involvement in outreach with villagers on the ground.

As we are a small team we expect our pilots to take on additional roles and responsibilities and this position is no different. We would be looking for someone to fulfill either the Operations Management or Airfield Development project role dependent on the experience.

Program Manager

Angola is a country that has experienced many years of civil war, people do not have access to any type of health-care and standards of living are very low.

For over 25 years MAF has been providing emergency medevac services, delivering much needed equipment to rural hospitals and enabling health-care professionals to reach some of the most isolated communities in this country.

MAF are now looking for a Program Manager who is an experienced team manager with excellent organizational skills and a detailed understanding of the cross cultural context to continue heading up this invaluable work. The role will be to plan, direct, facilitate and co-ordinate MAF operations in Angola.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that MAFC’s (MAF Canada) activities in Angola have the greatest impact in place of greatest need
  • Evaluate the extent to which MAF’s activities can/do impact needs in Angola and allocate available equipment and resources
  • Manages and improves the programs service delivery to ensure maximum impact in line with the Angola strategic plan
  • Organizes, assigns and supervises staff
