Cessna C210

Its speed, comfort and smoothness, as well as its efficiency, make the 210 a valuable addition to MAF’s fleet

Operated by MAF in Kenya, Uganda and Arnhem Land, the single engine Cessna 210 carries 5 people or up to 400 kg of supplies.

The cantilever wing (no wing struts), the lack of a cargo pod, and the retractable undercarriage all reduce drag and enable the C210 to fly much faster than the similar sized C206.

The 210 has the speed and carrying capacity of many light twin-engine aircraft, with the economy of only one engine. It is equipped with a Continental IO-550 piston engine, producing 300 hp.

With a cruising speed of 160mph, the 210 is useful for longer journeys when a small number of passengers or small cargo load need to get to a location as quickly as possible. The 210 can do a return journey into neighbouring countries in the same day.

Cessna 210s have proved to be the best aircraft that meet our partners needs in the five-seater category.

– Douglas Kimanthi, MAF Operations Manager in Kenya

The C210 can cover a given distance more quickly that the C206 and uses less fuel to do so.

Reasonable STOL (short take off and landing) performance combined with speed means it is useful for medical emergency flights, reaching patients and bringing them to hospital as quickly as possible.

MAF pilot Bryan Pill shares, ‘I always say if you had to own a single engine plane, a 210 is one of the nicest.’

Its speed, comfort and smoothness, as well as its efficiency, make the 210 a valuable addition to MAF’s fleet.
