only when the plane comes

Whether it's in response to earthquakes in Indonesia, or famines in Africa, MAF is there - providing transportation, logistics, and communications in times of disaster and crisis.

We need your help to provide for ongoing needs in countries like Indonesia and Angola, while enabling us to respond to emergencies in other countries at a moment's notice.

You can help to keep our planes flying by providing for our Flight Fund.

flying for life

Every three minutes, an MAF plane will take off or land; bringing help, hope, and the Good News of Jesus Christ to isolated people in one of more than 2,000 locations in over 36 countries worldwide.

In places left unreachable due to natural disaster or war, light aircraft like those used by MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) are the only safe and effective way to transport people and supplies.

bringing emergency relief

When disaster strikes, MAF is able to provide the kind of ‘first on scene’ response that only light aircraft can provide. Whether surveying a disaster area or delivering food to refugees caught behind a war zone, MAF is there.

When a devastating tsunami hit the west coast of Indonesia in 2004, MAF was able to deliver emergency rations, shelter materials, and medical personnel and supplies within hours instead of days.

Maintaining a constant ‘flight readiness’ is critical in emergency situations where minutes saved can mean the difference between life and death for someone in need.

Your support of MAF will help keep our planes flying.

help for the helpless

In the vast and isolated expanses of Africa, Latin America, and the Far East, millions live beyond the reach of traditional transportation.

The hunger of these people can be both physical and spiritual. It’s for them that MAF exists; making thousands of flights each year that bring vital supplies to those in need. Through partnerships with hundreds of relief and development agencies and thousands of local clinics, missionaries, and churches, MAF is bringing help, hope, and health to the ends of the earth.

Your support can help children like Charles - caught in the crossfire of civil unrest and war.  Click here to make your tax-deductible Wings of Love Flight Fund gift right now.

Dad's helper

Since her mother died, ten-year old Angelina has had to look after the family house in southern Sudan.

Her father Jing had suffered for a month with malaria.  He was unable to leave his bed, dehydrated, in severe pain, and facing possible death.

Treatment in the traditional Neur fashion - cutting his forearm - had failed.  Angelina struggled to help friends carry her sick father in a hammock for an hour to reach the Christian Mission Aid clinic at Keew.

'He is better,' says a relieved Angelina.

Surrounded by swamps and impassable by road, the Keew clinic would not exist without the support of MAF and the financial help of friends like you.

Meet Charles Okwera

5 year old Charles Okwera lives in a small village (Omiya Pacwa) with his mom and her family.

One night the rebels attacked the village and Charles and his mom when able to run away.

They climbed on a rock, but the rebels were shooting and Charles fell from the rock. Charles could not walk anymore or keep his head up. He was totally lame.

In the hospital they did a pin traction on the head and now he can keep his head up again. Also the legs are improving with physiotherapy. Charles received one unit of blood.

Kalongo hospital receives blood from Nakasero blood bank. MAF flies the blood to the hospital. Besides blood MAF flies medicines and medical staff.

It is not possible to use the roads around Kalongo.  The people in Kalongo live in constant fear of the rebels. They know what cruelties can happen.

All the staff at the Kalongo hospital are so grateful for the work of MAF.  They say that Kalongo hospital would not have survived without the help of MAF.

In this time MAF is an encouragement for them and the contact with the world around them.

Your support can help children like Charles - caught in the crossfire of civil unrest and war.  Click here to make your tax-deductible Wings of Love Flight Fund gift right now.
