To combat rising
fuel costs, most major airlines in Canada have chosen to charge extra
for baggage, or limit or cancel some flights all together.
These options
simply aren’t available to MAF, which flies to more than 2,500 of the
most remote airstrips around the world. Each of these airstrips
represent a community of people in need.
Denying our service to just one
of these communities would be one too many, and limiting the amount of
cargo we can carry means that emergency food, medical, or relief
supplies would not reach those who need them most.
We can’t ask our
pilots to decide which of these communities they can fly to and which
ones they can’t - and we don’t believe that you can either - especially when
the answer is within our reach.
That’s why we're asking you to help keep these remote strips open

Unless those who support the work of MAF around the world come
together to help provide an additional $1,500,000 this year, we will be
forced to discontinue service to many of these remote communities - a
decision that will affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of people
