Airplanes
like the Cessna Caravan we operate in Angola are expensive to
purchase, maintain, and operate.
Though we work hard to squeeze as much life out of
them as possible, while still ensuring that they are safe and ready
to fly at a moments notice, they do eventually need to be replaced.
In just the past 10 years
of flying in Angola alone, our aircraft have
logged more than 2.6 million miles of humanitarian flights.That’s
the equivalent of more than 6 round-trips to the moon!
Unfortunately,
these flights have taken a toll on our planes, and we must continuously
refurbish and even replace them if we are to
continue meeting the current demand for
humanitarian flights in
places like Angola.

The MAF Canada scholarship fund recognizes
Canadian post-secondary students preparing for a
full-time career in mission aviation who plan to use those skills overseas upon
completion of all required training.
This is an annual scholarship with an award of $5,000.
